Episode 10: “Mock!” “YE-AH!”

Well hello there, boys and girls!

Welcome back to another fun-filled episode of Best Movie Ever! For the first time in ages, we actually got one of these suckers up when we said we would (and no, we can’t believe it either). In honor of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone – the only semi-noteworthy wide release this week – we’re taking a walk down memory lane with a look back at a legend of our time, the one and only Jim Carrey. Not only that, but we finish things off by running down our picks for the Best Funniest Scene Ever in a movie (to hell with grammar!). A tall order indeed, but we rose to the occasion like men…nay, like gods!

So without further ado:

[START – 2:00]
Introductions for all you first-time listeners.

[2:00 – 15:00] SEGMENT I: WHATCHA’ WATCHIN’?
Sean dug through the annals of his Netflix Instant queue and finally gave The Conversation a go. This leads to a thorough, passionate, dare we say erotic discussion of the greatest decade of Francis Ford Coppola’s career: the ’70s.

[15:00 – 24:04]
Rather than waste his time on the many horrendous offerings from Hollywood these days, Aiden got into Girls and he’s been drinking the Kool-Aid ever since.

[24:04 – 31:17] SEGMENT II: THE UPS AND DOWNS OF JIM CARREY’S CAREER
We start with the greatest year of Jimbo’s career: 1994. It was the year of Ace Ventura, it was the year of The Mask

[31:17 – 37:06]
…It was the year of Dumb & Dumber, still one of the funniest movies ever made.

[37:06 – 49:29]
Then, we proceed to his “serious years” with The Truman Show and Man on the Moon. Eventually this brings us to present day where we realize how accomplished his career has actually been.

Jim Carrey, folks. Jim-freaking-Carrey.

[49:29 – 57:46] SEGMENT III: BEST FUNNIEST SCENE EVER
Aiden:

[57:46 – 01:06:50]
Sean:

[01:06:50 – END]
We say goodbye.

Well, folks, thanks a mil for listening and hope you enjoyed this one as much as we did. As usual, big ups to Atheist for letting us borrow his fly beats (you gotta download that ish, yo!), and until next time, stay groovy.
